With its diverse instrumentation and highly experienced musicians, the ensemble has a wide repertoire. ESF has presented works such as Brahms G Minor Piano Quartet, Brahms Horn Trio, Tchaikovsky Piano Trio, Ravel Tzigane, Bartok Contrasts, Brahms Clarinet Trio, Puccini Crisantemi, and Schubert Trout Quintet with guest Scott Pingel from the SF Symphony. It commissioned and premiered John Wineglass’s OctaRhumba, has been an advocate for Jose Gonzalez Granero’s string quartet Noche del Amor Insomne (2014) and in 2016 premiered his Concerto da Camera with Stanford Philharmonia. It was hired to perform Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time, and received a standing ovation for this performance in Los Angeles.

ESF is dedicated to introducing new audiences to classical music. The group has a fun and interactive onstage presence, while still presenting great traditional classical works at the highest artistic level.
