Student Competition Winners

Jonah & Christine opened the program with the tempestuous and romantic Sonata for Cello and Piano by Samuel Barber. Next, ESF was joined by the talented young winners of its first annual student competition. The string winners joined for the first movement of Tchaikovsky’s Souvenir de Florence, and the pianist joined for the dramatic first movement of Schumann’s Piano Quartet. The program closed with the audience favorite Mendelssohn Piano Trio in D minor, performed by Jonah, Christine, and SF Symphony’s wonderful new violinist Elina Lev.
